Wednesday, 5 June

Catch our entourage of talented performers as they spread a message of  “environmental respect” through music, song and dance at the following locations:
Feri - 8am
Posta - 10am
Kariokoo -12 noon
Mwenge - 2pm
Savey - 3pm


Roots & Shoots invite you to the opening of their Art Exhibition at 5pm at the Goethe Institute.  The event will open with a presentation by WasteDar followed by a silent auction and traditional dance. The exhibition which features Art by local students expressing their views on the current state of our City’s environment will run from 5 – 7 June, 9am – 5pm daily.



If you missed our Must-See movie , Trashed, make your way over to the Slipway Cinema, 5 June at 19.30.  Tickets cost Tsh 10 000 each and will be on sale at the door from 18.45.   All proceeds go to the marine NGO Sea Sense’s  Flip Flop beach waste recycling project on Mafia Island.


Friday, 7 June

Join us as we “paint” the town GREEN! We are appealing to individuals, schools, organizations and businesses to 

wear Green on Friday.  Spread the word and send your pictures to us at https:/   Prizes will be awarded for the Largest Green Group photo; and the most Original Interpretation of Wearing Green.


Saturday, 8 June

Come over to Mwenge Bus Stand and join the formidable Voice Giving team as they continue their remarkable work cleaning bus stations and spreading the word of cleanliness and hope, from 9am – 12 noon.  Brooms and gloves will be provided.



Make your way over to Mikocheni A Primary School and join in the tree planting, fun and games organized by senior medical students as they promote the importance of a clean environment for improved health.  Activities kick off at 9am and visitors are encouraged to contact Aliasgar on 0686 330123 to secure a spot in a team event.  Check out more on here


Sunday, 9 June

The week’s activities will culminate in a Grand Finale at the Coco Beach Clean up between 15.30 and 18:00.  Roll up your sleeves and do your bit to put trash in its proper place – the bin!  Gloves and bags will be provided.  Don’t miss Banana Zorro fully loaded singing the Nipe Fagio song, the amazing KCC (Kigamboni Community Centre) dance and acrobatic routines, learn some top tips about how to be an eco-warrior and how to reduce, reuse & recycle as we dance to music and local talent.   Also hear about about some of the exciting things coming to Dar in the form of sustainable waste recycling and how we can all join with Nipe Fagio and BE THE CHANGE! … grab a broom and help us clean up our acts!
