Mbezi Beach - Several volunteers turned out on Saturday 10th June, to remove marine litter and trash from the Mbezi Sealine Beach as part of the celebration of World Ocean Day 2017, more than 30 people showed up and collected about 360kg of trash.

Volunteers from Mbezi beach neighborhood, Koncept tz, Mikocheni friends of ocean and Nipe Fagio came together and joined efforts for making the beach cleaner. Volunteers enjoyed meeting each other and expressed an interest in holding more events like this in the future.
As one volunteer (Yusuph Masanja) commented during the clean up “I walked on this beach on 30th April and it looked like hell!!!. Today, dedicated youth with support from Nipe Fagio said "not on my watch" and they flipped the beach into this...cleaner and healthier place...more work is still needed though and we are counting on you."

Nipe Fagio continues to support CCBAG, Mbezi Beach Cleaning Volunteers and other organisations in promoting their events on this forum and others. Anybody is welcome to attend a beach cleanup for 10 minutes, 30 minutes or a couple of hours. Meet people in your community, have a chat and get involved in doing your bit to solve the problem first hand. Bags, disposable gloves are provided free.
